Information after the Olympiad

APAO is a relatively new Olympiad which was founded in the spring 2005 as an international regional programme in line with the International Astronomy Olympiad. The 12^th Asian-Pacific Astronomy Olympiad (XII APAO) took place in November 2016 in Goheung county (South coast of Korea) on the base of the National Youth Space Center (NYSC).

The participants stayed in dormitory of NYSC.

Theoretical and Practical rounds were held in auditoriums of NYSC, and Observational round - at the NYSC territory.

51 students from 8 teams of 7 countries took part in the Olympiad:

GO		Goheung - 8 students
KR		Korea - 8 students
KZ		Kazakhstan - 8 students
MN		Mongolia - 8 students
RU		Russia (East-Asian part) - 2 students
SL		Vietnam - 7 students

6 languages were used at the Olympiad:

RUS		Russian - 10 participants
CHN		Chinese - 8 participants
MON		Mongolian - 8 students
SIN		Vietnamese - 7 participants
ENG		English - 2 participants, and for technical service
