Founding of the
International Astronomy Olympiad

June 7, 1996.

Having heard the report of Dr. M. G. Gavrilov "on the International Astronomy Olympiad" the Euro-Asian Astronomical Society Board states the following:

1. To found the International Olympiad of Euro-Asian Astronomical Society (officially - the International Astronomy Olympiad).

2. To ratify Founding Statutes on the International Olympiad of Euro-Asian Astronomical Society.

3. To appoint Dr. M. G. Gavrilov to the position of Coordinator (Chairman of the Coordinating Council) of the International Astronomy Olympiad.

4. To provide information about the International Astronomy Olympiad according to the channels of Euro-Asian Astronomical Society.

5. To promote holding of the First International Astronomy Olympiad in the autumn of 1996 at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of Russian Academy of Sciences (Niznij Arkhyz).
