Conference program
The third International Conference on Physics of Low-Dimensional Structures (PLDS-3) will be held on October 15-20, 2001 in Chernogolovka, Institute of Solid State Physics Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow District. Expected number of participants is 100 persons. The scientific program covers a wide range of issues in modern physics of low-dimensional systems including the following topics:
>Surfaces, Overlayers, Interfaces
> Heterostructures and Superlattices
> Clusters and Nanostructures
> Quantum Wells, Wires, and Dots
> Transport in Low-Dimensional Structures
> Characterization of Low-Dimensional Structures: Electron Spectroscopy, Scanning Probe Microscopy, and Spin-Polarized Surface-Sensitive Techniques.

You are cordially invited to contribute to the scientific program. There will be oral and poster sessions. To present a paper please send an abstract of 150 words or less to the following address:

Abstracts can be electronically submitted as attached files in LaTeX or MSWord formats to the following addresses:

The abstract should be typed on a single page with the title at the top followed by the author's name(s), affiliation(s), address(es), and the text of the abstract. The name of the presenting author must be underlined. The text should be written in good English and clearly present the basic results. The abstract must be received before 1 June 2001. The LaTeX format for electronic versions of submitted abstracts is preferable.
Accepted papers will be published in special volumes of the international journal "Physics of Low-Dimensional Structures". The Conference registration fee includes Proceedings volumes. Additional volumes can be purchased at extra cost.
Manuscripts for Proceedings
Manuscripts should be prepared according to the standards and requirements of the international journal "Physics of Low-Dimensional Structures". The manuscripts can be submitted on arrival in Chernogolovka. However, we would appreciate receiving the manuscripts of contributed paper before October 1, 2001.
Instructions for Presenters
The official language of the Conference will be English. No translation facilities are provided.
Projection Facilities
Standard projection facilities and 35 mm slides will be available.
Contributed papers are allocated 20 minutes in total, including discussion. Invited 30 minutes in total, including questions. Plenary lectures: 40 minutes, including questions. There will be a several poster sessions. Other details will be presented in Final Program.
