Position:

Research Scientist

About:

In 2002 Simonov graduated from Physics department of Saratov State University. Since that time he works in the Laboratory of Structure Research at the Institute of Solid State Physics Russian Academy of Sciences (Chernogolovka, Moscow distr.). In 2006 he received PhD degree for the work “Structural features, modulations and phase transitions in low-dimensional molecular conductors based on organic pi-donors”. In 2007 he was invited on a PhD position in the MOLTECH ANJOU laboratory of Angers University (France) where he carried out structural researches of organic conductors and dynamic systems on base of a BCO-molecule. He participated in carrying out of diffraction experiments on SOLEIL synchrotron, CRYSTAL beamline (France) in 2008 and 2009. After returning in 2009 in walls of ISSP he is actively engaged in X-ray investigations of SMM (single-molecule magnet) and SCM (single-chain magnets) crystals.

Research interest:

Simonov's research interests devote to X-ray investigation of organic and metal-organic compounds showing unique physical and structural properties. Special the attention is given to crystals showing:
• structural disorder in organic and organometallic compounds;
• diffuse scattering, incommensurate and modulated structures;
• structural phase transitions;
• decomposition of crystal structure under normal conditions.
